About

We are choreographers and dance instructors. We are passionate about dance.

The First Dance Academy has now over 30 dance teachers and choreographers. Between all of us we cover most major dance styles.

The Academy was founded by Anthony Auffret in 2015 and its goal is to help brides and grooms with their Wedding First Dance.

We pride ourselves in being very efficient in teaching elegant and impressive choreographies to complete beginners.

A word from our Founder and Lead Choreographer:

We want our brides and grooms to step on the dance floor with confidence and with a smile on their face.

The First Dance is a very important element of the wedding celebrations, a fact that regrettably can often be underestimated until it is too late.

Without preparations, the bride and groom are likely to feel overwhelmed when they step on the dance floor and their First Dance is announced. It can quickly lead to a very awkward 5 minutes.

It doesn't need to be that way, just a small bit a preparation before the wedding can make a huge difference. It can turn what was potentially an embarrassing shuffle into a memorable dance. It's a very easy win!

About

Anthony Auffret

Founder and lead choreographer

Anthony started dancing at a young age. While he enjoys dancing many styles he favors Latin dances such as Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango...

In 2002, Anthony his then partner Coral Perez Garcia, were finalists in the Salsa World Championships.

In 2004, he created Dance Nation, the company behind Salsa Nation, Dancing Hen and First Dance Academy.

He has taught classes and workshops throughout Europe, the U.S.A, South and Central America, Asia and Africa and collected many awards along the way.

Our way of teaching has evolved over the years. We now use a mix of online lessons and face-to-face sessions with choreographers. This is a very efficient, time effective and cost effective way of learning.
