We do not list franchise or chain studios, and we do not accept applications where the only contact is a listing on another directory (The Knot, WeddingWire, Easy Weddings, etc.). You need a direct contact point — a website, Instagram, or Facebook page you own.

Is it free to be listed?
Yes. Listing on First Dance Academy is free. There are no subscription fees and no credit card required. If we ever introduce a paid tier, teachers already listed will be the first to hear about it and will always have the option to stay on a free listing.
Is the badge or backlink a requirement?
Listing is free with no conditions. The badge is something we offer once your profile is live — a “Listed on First Dance Academy” badge or text link you can add to your own website. If you have a suitable business website, we ask for a reciprocal link as part of claiming your profile. It is how the directory stays credible for couples and valuable for everyone listed. Teachers without a suitable website can still be listed and claim their profile.
How do you keep listings up to date?
We periodically invite teachers to confirm or update their listing. This helps us maintain an accurate, useful directory for couples and ensures teachers are represented correctly. It is not an assessment of professional competence — we do not endorse or rate the teachers listed. It is simply a check that business details, contact links, and location information are still current.
What happens after I apply?
We review every application manually. If your profile is a good fit, we will build your listing and send you the link — usually within a few business days. You can request changes, add a photo, or update your bio at any time by emailing hello@firstdanceacademy.com.
Do I have to accept enquiries from First Dance Academy?
No. The listing is independent. The couple enquiry question on the form is optional and has no bearing on whether we list you. If you indicate interest we will contact you separately to explain how that works — there is no automatic commitment.
Can I be listed in more than one city?
Yes. If you regularly teach in multiple cities, mention that in your notes and we will set up pages for each location.
