Owner & Director, Clarke School of Dancing
Alan Clarke BEM is the owner and director of the Clarke School of Dancing in Belfast, one of the most distinguished dance schools in Northern Ireland and the British Isles. Alan was awarded the British Empire Medal in Her Majesty the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2017 in recognition of his services to dance. He is a Fellow of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (Latin American branch), a Fellow and Examiner of the All Ireland Board of Ballroom Dancing (Ballroom branch), a Global Ambassador to the World Dance Council Amateur League, an Honorary Member of the World Dance Council, and a Member of the United Kingdom Alliance. The Clarke School of Dancing was established by Alan's parents in 1958 and has been serving the Belfast community for 68 years. Alan joined the school himself in 1978 and has led its teaching programme ever since. The school offers wedding first dance lessons alongside classes in Ballroom, Latin, Hip Hop and Kpop for all ages and abilities.
