Joanna Appleby

Joanna Appleby is the founder and head instructor of Gotta Dance Derby, an ISTD and NATD affiliated dance school based in Derby. Joanna began dancing at age six and went on to compete nationally and internationally for over 20 years, reaching a high standard at Ballroom and Latin Championships. She qualified as a dance teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and founded Gotta Dance Derby to bring high-quality tuition to dancers of all ages and abilities in the Derby area. The teaching team includes her son Max, an Open British competitor and Blackpool ISTD Grand Final champion, and his dance partner Beth, a national and international Amateur Ballroom competitor. Gotta Dance Derby is based at Heatherton Haven Centre and Littleover Community School Dance Studio in Derby, and offers private wedding first dance lessons alongside its regular class programme.
